Anthony Edwards’ Top Five Career Moments

1. 51 points, a career high, against the Wizards

In April 2024, Edwards produced a stunning performance, scoring 51 points in a 130-121 win over the Wizards. Shooting 58.6 percent from the field, he made 29 attempts, went 11-for-11 from the free throw line, and shot 46.2 percent from beyond the arc. This feat ranks him among 25 players selected in NBA history to score 50 points in a game before turning 23.

2. Spectacular Alley-Oop against the Grizzlies

One of Edwards’ most memorable dunks came in January against the Grizzlies. Paired with Xavier Tillman at the top of the key, Edwards executed a flawless fake that knocked Tillman off balance, allowing Edwards to flip the ball up to the backboard and catch it in mid-air for a stunning alley-oop.

3. Dominant performance in the Conference Semifinals against the Nuggets

Defying all expectations, Edwards led the Timberwolves past the defending champion Nuggets in the conference semifinals. Highlighted by two 40-point games in a seven-game series, he averaged 27.7 points, 5.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. His 44 points in Game 4 set a franchise record. Edwards now holds four of the six 40-point games in Minnesota playoff history.

4. Historical Stats Against the Trail Blazers

In January of his sophomore season (2021-22), Edwards achieved a unique stat line never seen before in NBA history. He scored 40 points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded three steals, blocked three shots and made five 3-pointers in a single game, leading Minnesota to a 109-107 victory.

5. Breathtaking dunk over John Collins

One of the most extraordinary moments of Edwards’ career occurred when he caught the ball in transition just two feet from the free throw line and threw down a huge dunk over John Collins. The impact was so intense that Edwards dislocated his finger.
